There is a bit more information when I start it from console: I am just now switching from MariaDB/MySQL to PostgreSQL and don't relish getting everything set up from the command shell if another tool doesn't work. I have to cancel and abort trying to start it up, or it comes back to taunt me. I tried running it with them removed and there was no change in behavior. I looked in these directories and they seemed to be reasonable places to look. python path /usr/lib/python3.8/site-packages/:/usr/lib64/python3.8/site-packages/ and /usr/lib/python3.8/site-packages/pgadmin4-web/. It has what I presume to be defaults, e.g. I click OK and it recycles, with another popup box for pgAdmin4's configuration. When I start it from the desktop, I get a little pop-up for a Fatal Error "The pgAdmin 4 server could not be contacted". I have the version from the PostgreSQL repo. I am using openSUSE Tubleweed, and have python 3.8 (and I did update-alternatives to make sure every bit of python was using 3.8) & KDE.
